Hey these look great! i was just wondering how they will function in game i.e will they deal damage to units charging through or will they be more like a defensive palisade?
Currently they form a battlefield obstacle, to slow cavalry units down when attacking the archers, I was considering adding an attack value to them if a an enemy unit gets close to them, I will have to work out if this is possible, I have a feeling it might be able to be done, for example in American Conquest the Inca's have the blowpipe unit that will blow/fire a poisoned tipped dart at the enemy, when the enemy is hit it won't die straight away, its health slowly decreases (unless the unit finds a priest which will heal it) I was thinking it maybe possible to add this to the stakes.
I was also considering having bundles of branches/twigs that you can light on fire that cause damage, this is much like the barrels in American Conquest: Divided Nation which you can build and then blow up at your choosing (it has a fuse so when you press delete it times itself to blow up).
So you could use these fires on the battlefield to deter the enemy attacking a certain spot on the map or to stop a direct cavalry charge, you could also build these fires close to enemy buildings to cause damage.
