Idea Implementation

This is the current list of ideas and suggestions for the Sword & Arrow mod. The purpose of this is to gather all the ideas and suggestions to make improvements on the current game and allows to have a goal to achieve these ideas and suggestions.

Siege engines can be captured when no friendly troops present

Yes

No

Concept: If a siege engine is left unattended e.g. military units from the same side are not  present for x radius then any passing enemy military units can capture this particular siege engine, thus control of this particular siege engine goes to the enemy. This process is the same as in the original game when a peasant is captured by the enemy.
English Lonbowmen can build defensive stakes

Yes

Yes

Concept: The English Longbowman is capable of building defensive wooden stakes, these stakes are just a small patch (about 4 to 5 units wide) of wooden stakes hammered into the ground with sharpened ends. This is however, limited to 10 sets or "lots" of stakes, otherwise if you leave it with no limits then you could build hundreds of stakes if you wanted to, completely cluttering the battlefield. The English archers were well known for there stakes in the defensive battles against the charging French knights, this this is a great idea to add realism to the mod.
Castles & Towers have open shut feature for entrance

No

No

Concept: This would allow you have garrisoned troops locked in the structure and disables the enemy from storming the buildings with units. Plus side would be a big emphasis on defense. Downside would be very difficult to attack enemy defense without siege engines and makes the storm feature of the game engine obsolete.
Make trees depleatable when being gathered by peasants

No

No

Concept: Currently when peasants chop trees and gather the wood resource the trees remain standing and therefore it's an unlimited supply and appears unrealistic. In Cossacks the trees were depleatable, so they had a set amount of wood that could be gathered from each tree and the tree would disappear (a tree stump was left behind) so when this set amount of wood was gathered the tree would disappear. Having this in the mod would improve realism and allow for greater strategy.
Peasants created at Town Centers or Dwellings

No

No

Concept: In the original American Conquest peasants are created at dwellings, this enabled you to make heaps of peasants really quickly as dwellings are cheap and quick to build, you could build a large army quite quickly. In the Cossacks game peasants were created at the Town Center, Town Centers cost a bit more and aren't built as quickly so it could take a little longer to get many peasants available, but this method is the traditional means of peasant creation.
Military units created independently/directly or military units created/trained using peasants

No

No

Concept: In the original American Conquest you used peasants to create new military units by sending them to the building that created the military unit and this peasant was "trained" to become the new unit and emerged as the military unit. In the Cossacks game making a military unit did not require a peasant, you just made the military unit by clicking the create button. Having peasants trained is more realistic, the downside is it could take longer to make a large army by having to train each unit.
